From 21 to 24 November 2018 in Saratov (Russian Federation) was held the XIX International conference of the International sport Federation of Firefighters and Rescuers.
These days Saratov has become an international platform for a meeting of representatives of the member countries of the Federation.
Holding events of this level serves to strengthen friendly relations and cooperation between fire and rescue services of different countries, improvement of professional and sportsmanship of workers in fire and rescue services, popularization of the profession of firefighter and rescuer, the further development of fire and rescue sport.
During the Conference, the issues of the state and development of sports activities of the International sport Federation of Firefighters and Rescuers, further international cooperation, organization and holding of the World Championships in fire and rescue sport in 2019 were discussed.
Acting President of the ISFFR Alexander Chupryan opened the conference and welcomed all participants, noting that the main purpose of this event is to exchange experience gained from communication with experts of the highest class of fire and rescue sports.
During the Conference, the issues of approval of world records in sports disciplines of fire and rescue sports for 2019, the issues of doping testing of athletes were discussed. One of the priority issues of the Conference was the discussion of the calendar plan of the World Championships and International competitions, in particular, the organization and holding in 2019 of the XV Anniversary world championship in fire and rescue sports in Saratov.
In addition, the Director of the Executive Committee of the International sport Federation of Firefighters and Rescuers – Andrei Kalinin summed up the activities of the International sport Federation of Firefighters and Rescuers for 2015-2018, proposed to define the tasks and prospects for further development in 2019-2022, as well as to discuss specific activities for 2019.
One of the most important issues on the agenda of the Conference was the choice of the President of the ISFFR, unanimously the participants voted for Alexander Petrovich Chupriyan, were also elected members of the Executive and Supervisory bodies and commissions of the ISFFR.
At the conference, the Republic of India and the Republic of Senegal were welcomed into a large sports family in a solemn atmosphere.
On the second day of the Conference, the agenda issues were also discussed, reports of the participants were heard, and the venues of the World Cup 2019 were inspected, such as the Lokomotiv stadium, theater square and others.
