The results of the main global event of 2025 –  the XX World Championship among men and the XI World Championship among women in fire and rescue sport

From October 26 to November 1, 2025, the XX World Championship among men and the XI World Championship among women in fire and rescue sport were held in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, under the auspices of the International Sport Federation of Firefighters and Rescuers.

Delegations from 23 countries participated in the competition, including 14 men's and 6 women's fire and rescue sport teams. The strongest athletes from the Republic of Austria, the Republic of Azerbaijan, the Republic of Belarus, the Federal Republic of Germany, the Islamic Republic of Iran, the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Republic of Cameroon, the People's Republic of China, the Kyrgyz Republic, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Mongolia, the Russian Federation, the Republic of Uzbekistan, and the Czech Republic came to the World Championships in Riyadh to demonstrate their skills and test their strength on the running tracks of the Prince Faisal bin Fahd Stadium.

For four days, athletes competed for the title of world champions in the hook ladder climbing to the 2nd and 4th floor of the training tower, overcoming 100-meter obstacle course, double event, fire relay race 4x100 meters and combat deployment.

On the first day of the World Championships, October 28, the world's top firefighters and rescuers took to the track at Prince Faisal bin Fahd Stadium in Riyadh to test their strength in the hook ladder climbing to the 2nd and 4th floor of the training tower. That evening, the opening ceremony of the World Championships took place, with Dr. Hamoud bin Suleiman Al-Faraj, Director General of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia's Civil Defense, and Alexander Chupriian, President of the International Sport Federation of Firefighters and Rescuers, greeting the participants and guests.

At the festive concert, dance troupes from Riyadh performed for the spectators and participants of the World Championships, and a parade of teams from countries that are members of the International Sport Federation of Firefighters and Rescuers took place. In keeping with the long-standing tradition of the Olympic sports movement, the Olympic flame was ceremoniously lit at the opening of the World Championships in Riyadh. At the conclusion of the gala concert, thousands of unmanned flying vehicles took to the skies at the stadium, forming various figures associated with the World Championships.

Following the opening ceremony of the World Championships, the semifinals and finals of the first day of competition took place. A tough and competitive battle determined the world champions in one of the most exciting and dynamic disciplines of fire and rescue sports, "Hook ladder climbing." The athletes quickly and confidently ascended through a 4th-floor window and overcame obstacles. The teamwork, courage, and fearlessness of the heights brought a thrill to everyone!

Dmitry Grebenshchikov of the national team of the Russian Federation won the men's hook ladder climbing with a time of 12.50 seconds, earning the gold medal. Stanislav Titorenko, also of the Russian Federation, won silver with a time of 12.65 seconds, and Nikita Ukolov of the Republic of Belarus took bronze with a time of 12.84 seconds.

The competition among women was particularly exciting. Karina Bochkareva (Russian Federation) topped the podium with a time of 6.88 seconds, while Ekaterina Chendakova (Russian Federation) took silver, finishing the distance in 6.92 seconds. Polina Kushnerenko (Republic of Belarus) took bronze with a time of 7.03.

The following days of competition also took place at the Prince Faisal bin Fahd Stadium, where spectators and athletes saw unpredictable races.

On October 29, competitors competed in overcoming 100-meter obstacle course.

In overcoming 100-meter obstacle course, the best result was shown by Vadim Shevchuk from the Russian Federation (14.84 sec.), second place was also taken by an athlete from the Russian Federation, Andrey Zarodov, and third place went to Nikita Cherepko (Republic of Belarus).

The obstacle course was also conquered by the women. After a close battle, Anna Yudina from the Russian Federation won with a time of 15.49 seconds. Oksana Kolomytova (Russian Federation) came in second. Third place went to Dzhairona Abduvaitova from the Republic of Uzbekistan.

In the fire relay race, the men's team from the Russian Federation won the gold medal. The men's team from the Republic of Belarus won silver. Bronze went to the team from the Republic of Uzbekistan.

Among the women's teams, the women's team from the Russian Federation took first place on the podium. The women's team from the Republic of Uzbekistan placed second. The women's team from the Republic of Belarus took home bronze.

On the final day of the competition, the winners and medalists in the combat deployment were determined. Among the men's teams, athletes from the Russian Federation proudly took first place on the podium. The men's team from the Republic of Uzbekistan took second place and a silver medal. The men's team from the Federal Republic of Germany won bronze.

In the women's combat deployment, the representatives of the Republic of Belarus brilliantly demonstrated their beauty and grace, confidently winning. The women's team from the Republic of Uzbekistan took second place, and the women's team from the Republic of Kazakhstan took third place.

Based on the results of all days of the competitions, in a difficult and tough struggle, the names of the world champions were determined.

The prize-winning places in the competitions among men’s teams were distributed as follows:
1st place  –  Russian Federation
2nd place  –  Republic of Uzbekistan
3rd place  –  Republic of Belarus.

The prize-winning places in the competitions in fire and rescue sport among women’s teams were distributed as follows: 
1st place  –  Russian Federation
2nd place  –  Republic of Belarus
3rd place  –  Republic of Uzbekistan.

On the evening of October 31, the closing ceremony of the XX Anniversary World Championship among men and Championship and the XI World Championship among women in fire and rescue sport took place. The winners and medalists were awarded medals, valuable gifts, and cups.

The closing ceremony culminated in the handover of the International Sport Federation of Firefighters and Rescuers’ flag from the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, host of the XX World Championship among men and Championship and the XI World Championship among women in fire and rescue sport, to the Republic of Azerbaijan, the future organizer of the 2026 World Championships.

It is worth noting that throughout the competition, the athletes competed fairly and uncompromisingly, achieving outstanding results in all events.
