The 6th meeting of the heads of Civil Defense and Fire and Rescue services of African states
On September 14, 2022, the 6th meeting of the heads of Civil Defense and Fire and Rescue services of African states took place.
The Conference was attended by representatives of the civil defense of 22 African countries: Algeria, Benin, Burkina Faso, Gabon, Ghana, Guinea, Guinea–Bissau, Cameroon, Central African Republic, Congo, Republic of Ivory Coast, Mauritania, Republic of Mali, Libya, Niger, Nigeria, Republic of Senegal, Sudan, South Sudan, Togo, Republic of Tunisia, Chad.
The agenda was devoted to the ICDO regional strategy for African countries and the presentation of the International Sport Federation of Firefighters and Rescuers.
The main task of the International Sport Federation of Firefighters and Rescuers is to promote this sport at the international level, as well as the organization and holding of world championships among men and women, youth and children. Sport implements the most important mission of bringing different people together and strengthening international relations between state and voluntary services of firefighters and rescuers of the world community.
Since sport is an important part of international cooperation in the world, in his speech Andrey Kalinin appealed to the ICDO member countries with a request to support the participation of the countries of the African continent in joining the International Sport Federation of Firefighters and Rescuers and the participation of national teams in the world championships held under the auspices of the International Sport Federation of Firefighters and Rescuers.
The conference was held in a warm and friendly atmosphere. The participants expressed their willingness to further strengthening of cooperation aimed at the exchange of experience and further development of fire and rescue sports.
