Summary of the main world event - XIX World Championships among men and X World Championships among women in fire and rescue sports
From September 5 to 11, 2024, the XIX World Championships among men and X World Championships among women in fire and rescue sports were held in Harbin, People's Republic of China, under the auspices of the International Sports Federation of Firefighters and Rescuers.
18 sports teams took part in the competition, including 11 men's and 7 women's teams in fire and rescue sports. The strongest athletes from the Republic of Austria, the Republic of Azerbaijan, the Republic of Belarus, the Islamic Republic of Iran, the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Kyrgyz Republic, the People's Republic of China, Mongolia, the Russian Federation, the Republic of Turkey, and the Republic of Uzbekistan came to the World Championship in Harbin to demonstrate their skills and will to win at the stadium of the Harbin Commercial University.
Over the course of four days, athletes competed for the title of world champions in climbing the assault ladder to the 2nd and 4th floors of the training tower, overcoming the 100-meter obstacle course, double-event, 4 x 100 meter fire relay, and combat deployment.
On the first sports day of the World Championships, September 7, the strongest athletes of the teams took to the running tracks to compete in climbing the assault ladder to the 2nd and 4th floors of the training tower.
In the evening of the same day, the Opening ceremony of the World Championships took place. Participants and guests of the competition were greeted by: Mr. Wang Xiangxi, Minister of Emergency Situations of the People's Republic of China, Mrs. Liang Huiling, Governor of Heilongjiang Province, President of the International Sports Federation of Firefighters and Rescuers Mr. Alexander Chupriyan, Director of the International Sports Federation of Firefighters and Rescuers Mr. Andrey Kalinin.
At the concert dedicated to the opening of the world championships, various dance groups and singers from the city of Harbin performed for the guests and participants of the competition. During the opening ceremony, a parade of flag bearers and teams of participating countries of the International Sports Federation of Firefighters and Rescuers took place.
In accordance with the established tradition of the Olympic sports movement, the Olympic flame of the world championships was lit in a ceremonial atmosphere at the opening of the world championships in Harbin.
As part of the grand opening of the world championships, the semi-final and final races of the first day of the competition took place.
In the course of a tough struggle, the names of the world champions in one of the most striking and dynamic disciplines of fire and rescue sports "climbing the assault ladder" were determined. In this discipline, like in no other sport, athletes run not only horizontally, but also vertically, which gives these competitions special dynamics and spectacle.
The winner in climbing the assault ladder to the 4th floor of the training tower became Anton Tarasevich, a representative of the national team of the Republic of Belarus, with a result of 12.72 seconds, winning the gold medal, silver and bronze also went to athletes from Belarus Nikita Ukolau and Ilya Bondarenko.
In the competition in climbing the assault ladder among women, all the prize places were won by Russians: the first place was taken by Ekaterina Chendakova with a result of 6.70 seconds, the silver medalist was Karina Bochkareva, and the bronze was won by Anna Iudina.
On September 8, the participants of the competition competed in overcoming a 100-meter obstacle course. The best result in overcoming the 100-meter obstacle course, among men was shown by Nikolay Ukolau from the Republic of Belarus (15.08 sec.), the second place was taken by Dmitrii Grebenshchikov from the Russian Federation, and the third place was taken by Bauyrzhan Tekenov (Republic of Kazakhstan).
The best results among women in overcoming the 100-meter obstacle course were shown by: the first place was taken by Aliaksandra Pashvianchuk from the Republic of Belarus with a result of 17.54 seconds. The second and third places were won by representatives of the Russian Federation Gaiane Akopova and Ekaterina Chendakova.
Throughout all the days of the championships, world records were set on the sports tracks, a considerable part of which belong to the current participants, in addition to joyful events, there were also losses and disappointments, but nothing could affect the friendly atmosphere between the athletes, darken the holiday of the world championships!
Thus, in the discipline "climbing the assault ladder to the 4th floor of the training tower" in the second attempt, Nikita Ukolau (Republic of Belarus) set a world record of 12.47 seconds. In the discipline "climbing the assault ladder to the 2nd floor of the training tower" Karina Bochkareva (Russian Federation) set a world record of 6.70 seconds. In the discipline "overcoming a 100-meter obstacle course" in the second attempt, the world record was set by the representative of the Republic of Uzbekistan Abduvayitova Jayrona 14.81 seconds. But five minutes later, a new world record was set - 14.65 seconds by the representative of the Russian Federation Akopova Gaiane. Gaiane also set a record in the individual championship in the discipline "double-event" - 21.53 seconds.
On September 9, in the discipline of “fire relay 4x100 meters”, the men's team of the People's Republic of China won the gold medal. Silver was won by the men's team of the Republic of Belarus. Bronze went to the team from the Russian Federation.
Among the women's teams, the women's team of the Russian Federation won the first place in a tough fight. In second place was the women's team of the Republic of Kazakhstan. The women's team of the Republic of Belarus took home the bronze.
On the final day of the competition, September 10, the winners and prize-winners in combat deployment were determined. Among the men's teams, the athletes of the Republic of Belarus won and took first place. Second place and a silver medal were won by the men's team of the People's Republic of China. Bronze and the third place of honor went to the men's team of the Republic of Azerbaijan.
In the combat deployment, the first place in a tough fight was won by the wonderful women's national team from the People's Republic of China, the second place was won by the women's national team of the Russian Federation, and the third place was won by the women's national team of the Republic of Uzbekistan.
Based on the results of all days of the competition, the names of the world champions were determined.

The closing ceremony culminated in a grand gala concert held at the stadium and ending with a grand fireworks display and an unforgettable spectacular spectacle created in the night sky above the stadium by 5,000 drones.
It is especially important to note that throughout the days of the World Championships, the athletes fought fairly and uncompromisingly and showed the highest results in all types of the program.
