Results of the XVI World Fire and Rescue Sport Championships
Under the auspices of the International Sports Federation of Firefighters and Rescuers, the sports teams competed for the title of champions at the XVI World Championship for Men and the VII World Championship for Women in Fire and Rescue Sport. The event took place on September 1-5, 2021 in Karaganda city (Republic of Kazakhstan).
National teams of 14 teams from 9 countries took part in competitions. Firemen and rescuers competed for championship in climbing assault ladder on 2 and 4 floors of training tower, overcoming 100 m obstacle course, fire relay race and live deployment.
On September 5, in the heart of the city, the closing and awarding ceremony was held at the Shakhtar Stadium.
On this solemn evening the strongest fire fighters and rescue athletes were welcomed by the Governor of Karaganda City Zhenis Kasymbek, the Minister of Emergency Situations of the Republic of Kazakhstan Yuriy Ilyin and Director of the Executive Committee of the International Sports Federation of Fire fighters and Rescuers Andrey Kalinin.
Following the results of all days of competitions in not easy and persistent struggle the names of world champions were defined. Men's national teams were placed as follows:
1st place - Republic of Belarus
2nd place - Czech Republic
3rd place - Russian Federation.
Prize-winning places among women's national teams:
1st place - Republic of Belarus
2nd place - Russian Federation
3rd place - Czech Republic
Winners and top achievers were awarded trophies, diplomas, medals and gifts. The best athletes were awarded the Champion's Ribbon.
During all competition days, athletes fought fair and uncompromising and showed the highest results in all disciplines. Congratulations to the winners and runners-up!
