International Sports Federation of Firefighters and Rescuers celebrates its 20th anniversary

The International Sports Federation of Firefighters and Rescuers celebrated its 20th anniversary! Over the years, the International Sports Federation of Firefighters and Rescuers has come a long way. The main objective of the International Federation is to unite the fire and rescue services of the global community in the development of fire and rescue sport.

For 20 years, fire and rescue sport has been at the forefront of the world.

Fire and rescue sport is not just a competition, it is a sport aimed at raising the prestige of the profession of firefighter and rescuer. All elements of fire and rescue sport are derived from real life. Fire and rescue sport is a combination of speed, strength, agility. The quicker a firefighter and rescuer overcomes obstacles, the quicker he overcomes fires, the quicker he climbs stairs, the quicker he can defeat the emergency. Only those with a strong spirit and physical strength are able to emerge victorious from any battle with the elements, not stopping at any difficulties and dangers, often risking their own lives.

The competition in fire and rescue sport is not only about strength, speed and intensity of the fight, but also about team spirit, camaraderie and professionalism of skills. The fight for seconds in competitions is a fight for human lives in real-life situations. Since 2014, women have participated in international fire and rescue competitions. Every year they proudly fly the flag of their country in international arenas.

The Federation currently has 29 member countries, including the Republic of Austria, the Republic of Azerbaijan, the Republic of Belarus, the Republic of Bulgaria, the Federal Republic of Germany, the Hellenic Republic, the Republic of India, the Italian Republic, the Islamic Republic of Iran, the State of Qatar, the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Kyrgyz Republic, the People's Republic of China, the Republic of Korea, the Latvian Republic, the Republic of Lithuania, Mongolia, the Republic of Poland, the Russian Federation, the Republic of Senegal, the Republic of Serbia and the Syrian Arab Republic.

The importance of the activities of the International Sports Federation of Fire fighters and Rescuers in development and promotion of fire and rescue sport can hardly be overestimated. The International Sports Federation of Fire fighters and Rescuers carries out intensive work in all directions of its activity and involves into joint cooperation both public organizations inside the country and organizations and associations of other countries abroad and enjoys great authority.

In total, the Federation has conducted 16 World Championships among men, 7 World Championships among women, 10 World Championships among boys, 6 World Championships among girls in fire and rescue sport, 22 international conferences on development of fire and rescue sport, organization and holding of international competitions, world championships in fire and rescue sport.

International exhibitions of fire-fighting and rescue equipment, demonstrations of nanotechnologies in fire extinguishing and fire prevention are held annually as part of the world championships.

The 20th anniversary of the International Sports Federation of Fire fighters and Rescuers is just a milestone with further tasks and plans for the future. New horizons, new starts, new victories and new records lie ahead for the firefighters and rescuers of the International Federation's member countries!
