Results of the International Fire and Rescue Sports Competition in Minsk

From April 15 to 18, 2024 under the auspices of the International Sports Federation of Firefighters and Rescuers on the basis of the Administrative and Training Center at the Minsk City Department of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Republic of Belarus took place the International Competition in fire-rescue indoor sports among men and women, in which sports teams of the Russian Federation and the Republic of Belarus took part.

For two days athletes competed for supremacy in climbing the assault ladder to the 2nd and 4th floors of the training tower and overcoming the 100-meter obstacle course.

On April 16, the opening ceremony of the International Competition took place. The strongest firefighters and rescue athletes were welcomed by the Minister of Emergency Situations of the Republic of Belarus Vadim Sinyavsky, who congratulated everyone on the opening of the season and wished everyone to perform well and show the best results. Director of the International Sports Federation of Firefighters and Rescuers Andrei Kalinin thanked the Belarusian side for hospitality, congratulated all those taking part in the international tournament and wished the athletes successful starts.

By the way, the international competition in fire and rescue sports in Minsk is the next stage of preparation of the participating teams for the world championship, which will be held this year in the People's Republic of China in Harbin.

On the first competition day the names of the tournament champions among women were determined in a hard and persistent struggle. It is not for nothing that fire-rescue sport is considered the sport of the strong, agile and brave. Ekaterina Chendakova (Russian Federation) took the first place in climbing the assault ladder to the 2nd floor of the training tower, Gayane Akopova (Russian Federation) took the second place on the podium, the third place was won by Elena Balakireva (Republic of Belarus).

Among men Nikita Ukolov (Republic of Belarus) became the unquestionable leader with the result of 12.70 sec. Anton Tarasevich (Republic of Belarus) won the silver and Rabtsevich Evgeny (Republic of Belarus) took the bronze.

On April 17 the International Fire and Rescue Sport Competition continued.

The participants competed in overcoming the 100-meter obstacle course. And only the strongest sportsmen and sportswomen with the best results became participants of the final race.

The best result among men was shown by Anton Maslov (Russian Federation) (15.74 sec.). Second place was won by Denis Barsuk (Republic of Belarus). Bronze went to Khabibulin Artem from the Russian Federation.

The obstacle course was also conquered by the fair sex. As a result of persistent struggle Tsenova Olesya (Russian Federation) won with the result of 16.07 seconds. The second place was also taken by Gayane Akopova from the Russian Federation with a result of 16.11 seconds. The third place of honor went to Alexandra Pashvenchuk from the Republic of Belarus (16.67sec.).

The international competitions were held in the best traditions of the world fire brotherhood, which will contribute to the further development and strengthening of international relations and cooperation in the field of fire and rescue sports, as well as improving the professional and sports skills of firefighters and rescuers.

Among the men's national teams the athletes of the Republic of Belarus worthily took the first place on the podium. Representatives of the fair sex of the Russian Federation vividly demonstrated their beauty and grace, taking the second place in the team stand.

The winners were awarded cups, diplomas, medals and valuable gifts.

The chief judge of the competition, international category judge Yuri Dudonov noted that during all competition days athletes fought fair and uncompromising and showed the highest results in all types of the program.

2nd place - Russian Federation.
