International Conference of Civil Defence Managers in Riyadh, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia

From 6 to 9 May 2024, the International Conference of Civil Defence Managers was held in Riyadh, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

The agenda was represented by important aspects:

• Strengthening the response capabilities of IOGO member states at both strategic and operational levels;
• sharing experiences in the field of civil defence;
• stimulating the interest of states in establishing and operationalising regional platforms, capacity building in the field of civil defence.

Experts from around the world gathered to share knowledge, best practices and innovative solutions to improve the effectiveness of civil defence mechanisms.

Andrey Kalinin, Director of the International Sports Federation of Firefighters and Rescuers, attended the Conference.

Sport is an important component of international co-operation in the world. The main task of the International Sports Federation of Firefighters and Rescuers is to promote this sport at the international level, as well as to organise and conduct world championships among men and women, youth and children.

In his report Andrey Kalinin appealed to the countries, members of MOGO with a request to join the International Sports Federation of Firefighters and Rescuers and participation of national teams in the world championships held under the auspices of the International Sports Federation of Firefighters and Rescuers.

Sport fulfils the most important mission to bring different nations closer together and strengthen international ties between public and voluntary fire and rescue services around the world.
