The XI World Championship among boys and juniors and the VII World Championship among girls and juniors in Fire and Rescue Sport were held on 16-22 August in Brest (Belarus) under the auspices of the International Sports Federation of Fire fighters and Rescuers.

National teams from Belarus, Russia, India, Kazakhstan and Slovakia took part in the World Championships. Representatives of Latvia, Uzbekistan and Bulgaria also attended the event.

President of the International Sports Federation of Fire fighters and Rescuers Alexander Chupriyan addressed to the participants of the competition with a welcoming speech. In particular, he noted that world championships in fire and rescue sport have become a good tradition. Junior national teams show good results, not inferior to their older colleagues in striving for victory.

Competitions of this kind help to strengthen professional solidarity and build ties between representatives of fire and rescue services from different countries.

The competition programme included four types of events: climbing up an assault ladder through the training tower window, overcoming a 100 metre obstacle course, 4x100m fire relay race, and military deployment. The sportsmen competed for the title of the strongest on the running track for 4 days.

A separate event at the 7th World Youth and Junior Championships was setting a new world record in the 100m hurdles with a time of 16.33 sec. The record belongs to Diana Nafikova of the Russian Federation in the Intermediate Age Group.

The official closing and awarding ceremony for the winners and runners-up was held at the Brest Rowing Canal on August 21.

- Children are a special category in our sport. We started holding such international competitions relatively recently. This is a completely new and unique story in the development of the sport. Every time I am amazed and amazed by the great passion to love their business, to love their craft, to love their fellow man, and all this is expressed on the running tracks of the fire and rescue sport

Alexander Chupriyan stressed.

Following the results of a fierce competition, the places among boys and juniors were distributed as follows:
1st place - Russian Federation;
2nd place - the Republic of Belarus;
3rd place - the Republic of Kazakhstan.

Among girls, juniors:
1st place - the Republic of Belarus;
