A working meeting with Rafail Mirzoyev, First Deputy Minister of Emergency Situations of the Republic of Azerbaijan, took place in Baku
From September 9 to 12, 2025, a delegation from the International Sports Federation of Firefighters and Rescuers (ISFFR) visited the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Republic of Azerbaijan.
The meetings took place in a cordial and friendly atmosphere. According to our international colleagues, holding world championships and international conferences in firefighting and rescue sports in various countries is one of the ISFFR's priorities. ISFFR events provide a unique platform for exchanging experience and insight into the latest nanotechnologies in fire safety.
During the working meeting between ISFFR Director Andrei Kalinin and First Deputy Minister of Emergency Situations of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Rafail Mirzoyev, cooperation in firefighting and rescue sports and the holding of the XXVI International Conference of Heads of Fire and Rescue Services of the International Sport Federation of Firefighters and Rescuers’ member countries were discussed. Moreover, the XXI Men's and XII Women's World Championships in firefighting and rescue sports in Baku in 2026 were discussed.
The ISFFR delegation visited the Academy of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Republic of Azerbaijan.
Baba Salayev, Head of the Academy, explained that the Academy is a state academic institution that trains highly qualified personnel for the Ministry, provides advanced training for its staff, and conducts research in the field of emergency situations. The delegation also visited the Academy's exhibitions.
During the negotiations with the Head of the Academy, the parties confirmed the potential for cooperation in firefighting and rescue sports and research. The International Sports Federation of Firefighters and Rescuers expresses its gratitude to the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Republic of Azerbaijan for its cooperation and strengthening of friendly relations.
