A working meeting was held with representatives of independent firefighting sport federations and associations of Slovakia, Austria, Bulgaria, and Czechia

In order to promote international cooperation in the field of firefighting and rescue sports, a delegation of the International Sport Federation of Firefighters and Rescuers paid a visit to the Slovak Republic in March 14–16, 2025.

A working meeting of representatives of independent firefighting sport associations of Slovakia, Austria, Bulgaria, and Czechia with Director of the International Sport Federation of Firefighters and Rescuers Andrei Kalinin and Sport Minister of the Slovak Republic Mr. Rudolf Huliak, took place on March 15, in Bojnice.

During the meeting, a wide range of issues were discussed, including the development of firefighting sports in the Slovak Republic, namely:

• organization of the training process;
• preparation of national sports teams for participation in world championships in firefighting and rescue sports and other international events under the auspices of the International Sport Federation of Firefighters and Rescuers;
• organization and hosting of the World Championships among boys and junior men, girls and junior women in firefighting and rescue sport in 2026 in the Slovak Republic.

The meeting took place in a warm, friendly atmosphere and undoubtedly served to strengthen friendly relations for cooperation and experience exchange between the International Sport Federation of Firefighters and Rescuers and the Slovakia Fire Sport Association, which celebrates its 10th anniversary this year.

As part of the visit, the delegation from the International Sport Federation of Firefighters and Rescuers paid a visit to the Bozpo company and to the Historical Museum of firefighting machinery and equipment.

In the evening, a magnificent gala concert was held in Bojnice to mark the 10th anniversary of the Slovakia Fire Sport Association.

At the gala, a celebration honoring was held for firefighting sports veterans, active athletes, young people and children. To mark the 10th anniversary of the Slovakia Fire Sport Association, a celebration cake with the organization's emblem was baked.

The International Sport Federation of Firefighters and Rescuers would like to extend thanks to President of the Slovakia Fire Sport Association Mr. Jan Borevka, Sport Minister of the Slovak Republic Mr. Rudolf Huliak, CEO of Bozpo Mr. Ján Donič and all those who took part in this important event.
