A press conference on the upcoming XI World Fire and Rescue Sport Championships was held today at TASS
It was attended by Alexey Anikin, Head of the Main Directorate of EMERCOM of Russia in St. Petersburg, Andrey Kalinin, Director of Executive Committee of International Sports Federation of Firefighters and Rescuers, and Yuri Avdeev, member of St. Petersburg Government - Chairman of Physical Culture and Sports Committee.
During the meeting, they told journalists about the upcoming World Championships and its highlights, and expressed hope that more than one world record would be set during professional competitions among fire fighters and rescuers; the athletes will have everything required for that; while spectators will enjoy the bright sporting performances against a magnificent panorama of St. Petersburg.
In addition, journalists were shown a set of medals of the upcoming championship.
There will be 180 medal events during three competition days of the Championship to determine the best firefighter and rescuer of the planet.
