The XXIV International Conference of the member countries of the International Sport Federation of Firefighters and Rescuers was held in Harbin

From October 25 to 29, 2023, the XXIV International Conference of heads of fire and rescue services of the member countries of the International Sport Federation of Firefighters and Rescuers was held in Harbin (People's Republic of China).

The Conference was attended by representatives of fire and rescue services and federations of fire and rescue sport: Republic of Austria, Republic of Azerbaijan, Republic of Belarus, Republic of Bulgaria, Islamic Republic of Iran, Republic of Kazakhstan, Republic of Cameroon, Kyrgyz Republic, Mongolia, Russian Federation, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Slovak Republic, Republic of Uzbekistan, Republic of Tajikistan, The Republic of Turkey, the Czech Republic as well as the People's Republic of China - the hosts of the Conference.

The Conference participants gathered to discuss the prospects of the International Sport Federation of Firefighters and Rescuers, the promotion and popularization of the sport of firefighters and rescuers, strengthening cooperation between rescue agencies of different countries, as well as to summarize the results of the 2023 World Championships and begin work on preparing for the 2024 World Championships.

Given the long history of the People's Republic of China, the Chinese people pay great attention to protocol and etiquette. Harbin, the capital of the Chinese province of Heilongjiang, is a city of historical and cultural significance at the national level. Therefore, special attention was paid to the organization and holding of the World Championships in 2024 in Harbin. Video presentations about the World Championships are presented. The Conference approved the regulations on holding the XIX World Championship among men and the X World Championship among women in fire and rescue sport, which will be held from September 5 to 11, 2024 in Harbin.

Andrey Kalinin, Director of the Executive Directorate of the International Sport Federation of Firefighters and Rescuers, made a report, in which he summed up the results of the work of the International Sport Federation of Firefighters and Rescuers for 2023 and defined tasks for the period 2024. He also expressed gratitude to the countries that held the world championships in fire and rescue sport.

New world records in the sports disciplines of fire and rescue sport among men, women, boys and juniors, girls and juniors have been approved. Representatives of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Russian Federation were awarded the sports titles of judges of the international category in fire and rescue sport. At the moment, the International Federation has 135 judges of the international category. The Plan of the main sports events of the Federation for the next year, the regulations on holding the XIII World Championship among boys and juniors and the IX World Championship among girls and juniors in fire and rescue sport, which will be held from August 13 to 19, 2024 in Almaty (Republic of Kazakhstan), have been agreed and approved. The composition of the main judging panels of the 2024 World Championships has been approved.

The member countries of the International Sport Federation of Firefighters and Rescuers, appreciated the work of the Sports and Technical Committee, the Disciplinary Anti-Doping Committee, the Sports and Disciplinary Commission, the Audit Commission.

The highlight of the Conference was the presentation of medals "For International Cooperation" to the heads of fire and rescue services of the countries, members of the International Sport Federation of Firefighters and Rescuers. President - Mr. Alexander P. Chupriian presented commemorative plaques for the great work on the preparation and organization of the International Conference to the Minister of Emergency Situations of the People's Republic of China, Mr. Wang Xiangxi; the Governor of Heilongjiang Province, Mr. Liang Huiling; and the Mayor of Harbin, Mr. Zhang Qixiang.
