On August 5, 2023, in the Republic of Mordovia, Saransk, the first races and the grand opening of the XII World Championship among boys and juniors and the VIII World Championship among girls and juniors in fire and rescue sport took place at the Start stadium.

The national teams of the Republic of Belarus, the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Russian Federation and the Slovak Republic took part in the competitions.

On the first day of the competition, athletes competed in climbing the assault ladder to the window of the 2nd and 3rd floors of the training tower.

This is one of the most spectacular types of fire and rescue sport.

Each athlete fought for the cherished seconds at the finish.

According to the results of the final races, the winner among girls in the younger age group was Ulyana Timofeeva (Republic of Belarus), the silver went to Kristina Kopkova (Russian Federation), the bronze to Evgenia Schmidt (Russian Federation).

In the middle age and junior group among girls, the gold went to the athletes of the Russian Federation - Ekaterina Shalaginova and Anastasia Kostrova.

The races of boys and juniors were no less intense, the stands and teams greeted the athletes with ovations and words of support.

The winners among young boys in the younger and middle age group and among juniors’ group were athletes of the Russian national team - Ivan Abalikhin, Maxim Kuznetsov and Fedor Frolovsky.

The opening ceremony has become a real celebration of sports. The children and guests saw Mordovian creativity, a dance show and a festive salute in the colors of the Russian tricolor.

The Head of the Republic of Mordovia - Artem Zdunov, Chief State Inspector of the Russian Federation for Fire Supervision - Anatoly Suprunovsky, President of the International Sport Federation of Firefighters and Rescuers - Alexander Chupriian, Director of the International Sport Federation of Firefighters and Rescuers - Andrey Kalinin and other honored guests made welcoming speeches.

On August 6, the competition continued on the running tracks of the Start Stadium.

Participants of the XII World Championship among boys and juniors and the VIII World Championship among girls and juniors in fire and rescue sport competed in overcoming the 100-meter obstacle course.

And only the strongest athletes with the best results in a hard struggle became participants of the final race.

In the final races among the girls, the places were distributed as follows: in the younger age group, the winner was the athlete of the national team of the Republic of Belarus - Ksenia Gusak.

Ekaterina Shalaginova (Russian Federation) was the first in the middle age group.

Among the juniors, Ekaterina Sobolevskaya, an athlete from the national team of the Republic of Belarus, became the world champion. The girl set a world record and a Belarusian record by finishing with a time of 16.36.

Among the boys in the younger age and junior age groups, the winners were the athletes from the Republic of Belarus - Ivan Semeynikov and Alexey Golubev.

In the middle age group, Alexander Ivanov (Russian Federation) became the world champion.

In the older age group among girls, the podium was won by an athlete from Belarus - Ekaterina Sobolevskaya.

The winner among the boys was also an athlete from the Republic of Belarus - Alexey Golubev.
